My newest addition...
I just got back from a 3300 mile, 11 state roadtrip. We left home (N. of Denver) at 4PM Wed. and arrived in Dayton Ohio 11:30AM Thur. (Yes, we were just a tad over the speed limit! )
I picked up a 1967 Amphicar. It was twice the car I expected. With some "Amphicar in a can" (AKA - Liquid nails) and duct tape we were able to take it for a swim after a 30 mile drive. We swam it 17 miles down the Rock River S. of Rockford, Il. What a fun trip! I had several offers to buy. One guy followed us on the hiway and when we stopped he ran up and made me another offer! She's a "keeper"! Now I have one nice Amphi and one I don't need to worry about scratches etc.
I also picked up a 3000 mile SOHC V6 for my Ranger for $600 while we were in Milwaukee.
My nephew just got his 2003 F250 6L Turbo-Diesel. What a NICE truck that is. 100 MPH with a car on a trailer was no problem. We averaged 85-95 all the way. Great way to break it in! (See pic below)

Sweet find - good luck with it!
I still want one - let me know if you find another lead that you will take a pass on.

Re: My newest addition...
I am very happy about this one. The gentleman who I bought it from gave me a good deal and the car was far more that I expected once I actually saw it. That is an exception to the norm in this hobby for sure.
A good place to look is in our club website at our club classifieds section. In fact there are 4 there right now. I will keep you in mind if I come across anything.

John, I don't want to start a land rush, but where was that photo taken?

John, your amphicar looks like a good find. Are those real chickens looks like a Ford commercial.

You passed right through Indiana TWICE and didn't stop by to say hi and let me see your new toy in person!
Nice car by the way.

I took that at my friends house in Eleva, Wisconsin (Just South of Eau Claire) I love his place. You can't even see another house from his. Behind the truck is a natural spring fed stream too.

Had I more time on the first leg of the trip I would have looked you up, I did think about ya on the way if that counts for anything! I would love to see how the truck is coming along in person. We were moving along at a pretty good clip most of the way. (at least Officer Patrick in Topeka thought so!)
If anyone wants to see Amphicars (possibly 70+) in action, be in Celina, Ohio the weekend of July 25th. We are having our 10th annual national "Swim In" there.

Those are plastic chickens, and fiberglass cows too! Maybe Ford will buy the picture!

Tell your nephew to keep an eye on the oil on that truck. Where I work we have four F-450 turbos and they love to eat up oil. Then again they get driven at least 100 miles and are running 8-10 hours strait a day lugging 17000 pounds of weight on them.
