HELP! need information on 1948 dodge 4-dr, completely original 18,000 miles

    Hi all...
I'm looking for some general information. I am planning on selling a 1948 Dodge 4-door on eBay, but don't know much about the car or the market. The information that I have...
* 18,000 original miles
* original body (no dents)
* Original paint (color is green)
* Interior also is original (the stitching may have been replaced due to deterioration)
* From what I understand, it looks as if it drove off the showroom floor last week.
Unfortunately, I don't have pictures, yet. However, should have some to put on-line within this next week.
If anyone out there has any information they can provide, or even places I can go to find further information (including the value). I would be sincerely appreciative!

    Any car 50+ years old with 18000 miles is unique, so you truely have a unique find.
A 4 Door Dodge is not a "High-Dollar" automobile. Even a perfectly restored example wont sell for more than the low teens. So how does that apply to your car? IT really depends on how well preserved it is. Even with 18000 miles it could be a problem if it was stored outside for much of its life.
For example: I bought a few years back a 48 Chrysler with 52,000 miles. I feel I stole it for $6500. It had been stored in a warehouse for over 40 years.
If you can provide photos that would be ideal. Email them to me and i'll post them here if you like.
Peter

    keepitpinned,
Old Cars Price Guide says:
#6 $572.
#5 $1,716.
#4 $2,860.
#3 $5,720.
#2 $10,010.
#1 $14,300.
#6 is a parts car and a #1 would be flawless.
Yours is perhaps a # 2, ?????
I'd be willing to give you or the person you represent $1,000. if it's in the condition you describe it to be in. Just kidding??? Get some pics and have Peter G post them.
[ 04-28-2002: Message edited by: 54 Oldsman ]

    Pete: Thanks for sharing the pictures of your car. Any chance of bringing it to the El Paso Chrysler Club's show June 1st at Hudson's Grill on Lee Trevino? (Yes, the restaurant is based on Hudson automobiles!)
