Giving Thanks to our service Men and Women

I like to take this time to give a huge THANK YOU to all those that have served, or are now serving in our Armed Forces. You people are the true heroes in my eyes. You were or are willing to put your life on the line for me and everyone one else, for the sake of Freedom.

    THANK YOU!

Thanks, but today is not for us. It's for the heroes and patriots that never came home. Thank me on Veteran's Day

Gary Wayne Tawney was one of the ones that did not come back. He sat in front of me in English class our Senior year. He was dead at age 22. The story written in our local papers about his death mentioned that like so many young men that went to Viet Nam, his beloved first car was left in his mom and dad's garage. They couldn't bear to part with it.

A salute to all who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the cause of freedom.

    Thanks to all Veterans.

Here are a couple photos from yesterday's Memorial Day observances in the village of Stony Creek, CT, early in the morning, including flag raising, marching up to the village cemetary, folllowed by the reading of deceased veterans names.
