| Re: Early Automobile Name I pulled this from the 1930 edition of the Chilton Automotive Multi-Guide, page 134 "Birth Dates of Automobiles" 1902 Union and 1902 Upton, it does not say how long either one lasted.

| Re: Early Automobile Name Bruce,
I got out my chart that shows the "2600 Makes Of Automobiles Sold In The United States In The Past 80 Years Or More". Under the U's are the following:
Ulster - 1919
Ultimate - 1920
Union - 1902-1909
Union - 1912
United - 1912
United Motor - 1902
Unito - 1908
Universal - 1917
University - 1917
Unwin - 1907
Upton - 1903-1905
U.S. - 1908
U.S. Electric - 1899-1901
U.S. Long Distance 1900-1904
U.S. Motor Vehicle 1899
Its too bad the chart doesn't indicate where these vehicles were built. I guess research on the web might identify most, but probably not all. Anyway, hopes this helps
Chuck |

| Re: Early Automobile Name This is a great hobby and a challenge. On my web site Early Automobiles of America I have over a thousand photographs of automobiles from 1877-1929 with manufacturers names, dates and places made. There are over six hundred different makers. Also shown is the Union and Upton automobiles. Use a pencil and paper and see just how many letters there are.You will be amazed This is the best and largest site on the internet for early American automobiles. Royal Feltner |

| Re: Early Automobile Name Royal,
What an ambitious site you've created there! I've bookmarked it for further reference, and it's great to see so many obscure and forgotten marques "in the flesh," rather than grainy images in a book.
Congrats, and keep up the good work...
