    chevrolet truck bed

Old chev. truck beds with a wood bed have a angle at the side of the bed. These were spot
welded to the side. After removal by grinding out the welds, do people bother to spot
weld the new angle? After all, the angle bolts to the cross member below the truck bed in multiple
    locations.

    Re: chevrolet truck bed

Because I bought stainless angle strips for the bed of my '48 Chevy half ton, I went without the spot welds and instead used a combination of the fender bolts that go through the angle strips (two on each side), a few strategically placed pop rivets (that go into the stake pockets and therefore don't show on the outside), and the bolts that go through to the support crossmembers. They've stayed perfectly in place for five years now.
