PWD Dinner Meeting Thursday July 2nd 2009

Pete Phillips will be guiding us to the BCA PreWar Division dinner meeting on Thursday July 2nd starting at 6:30 PM at the Old Depot Restraunt only 4 ½ miles from the National Meet in Colorado Springs. I know that Derek Thille & Jack Gerstkemper & I will be there, and would like to know what other PWD members plan to attend. You can check out the menu and cool location here:

Please email me if you are planning to attend: durcodude@comcast.net

Prewar Buick after tour- July 5- July 7, 2009

Our AfterTour leaders Ed & Sandi Lappin are still busy working on the AfterTour. Any BCA member can register to participate in the PWD AfterTour with any year Buick or their everyday driver. However, our tour leaders may have to limit the number of cars on the tour and give priority to prewar Buicks. So, go ahead and register for the AfterTour with whatever car you bring to the BCA National. But you may get bumped only if there are too many postwar cars registered on or before June 19th.

The hotel for the PWD AfterTour will be the Pikes Peak Drury Inn, 8155 N. Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO. Ed & Sandi have arranged a special rate of $85 per night for arrival on Sunday July 5th and departure on Wednesday July 8th. You should make your own reservations directly with the hotel under the PreWar Buick group number 2049394. You can check out the hotel at the following web address:
http://www.druryhotels.com/properties/pikespeak.cfm

These are some (not all) of the activities currently scheduled the AfterTour:

Sunday July 5: First we will move from the BCA National Meet host hotel to the Drury Inn at the north end of Colorado Springs. Then we will take a leisurely drive up Pike's Peak and return to the Drury Inn to complete our hotel check-ins. We will end the day with and group dinner mixer to get to know each other.

Monday July 6: Drive to a cat house (www.serenityspringswildlife.org) and tour a cool museum for everyone to enjoy.

Tuesday July 7: We will drive to and tour The Cherokee Ranch and Castle and have lunch and browse museums & antique shops in Castle Rock.
