I'm thinking it would be wise for me to rebuild or have rebuilt my 1933 series 66 fuel pump as all aspects of the fuel system seem really dirty and full of gunk. The car has been run only a little bit each year by the previous owner. Is this a difficult thing or something left to strict professionals.

Are kits available and does it take a lot of special tools.
Any info or recommendations on quality guys that rebuild them would be helpful.

Also for some reason one of the previous owners had plugged the vacuum pump booster holes on the bottom side of the fuel pump. Does that effect performance of the fuel chamber having them plugged. I plan on re hooking them up when it's done.

Contact Then and Now Automotive, they sell kits made for modern gas and thay also can rebuild your pump for a reasonable price. I had them do my 32 Cadillac pump, quick turnaround and they stock many hard to find parts if needed.

They probably plugged those holes because it was sucking gas up into the manifold. A rebuild should fix that.

Rebuilding is not a difficult task. You need a vice to clamp one of the ears of the fuel pump in so you have both hands free.
