    Re: New project-------1955 66C

Still waiting on the embossed material for the door and quarter panels.

Dealing with SMS, you learn patience.

Patience is a virtue especially when restoring a car, but not any car. This one is a Buick.

Bob, did you use the same restoration shop as with the 1955 - Buick series 68 - Motorama Prototype?

The Buick is looking good Bob, I'm sure your proud of it.

    Re: New project-------1955 66C

Hey, not so hard on SMS! When I walked in there last month, unannounced, they pulled my cloth and seat vinyl right off the shelf. Mind you, I got the last of the cloth and the patterned door panel vinyl has not yet been reproduced. When I asked owner Doug Pollock when they'd get around to it, he smiled and said that every new pattern is high priority but they have to keep filling orders, too. For every request for one-year, one-model, one-colour Buick fabric, they'll have ten orders for seats for a 1966 Ford pickup truck, as a random example.

While we were talking, he was handed a new request for - you guessed it - '66 Ford truck vinyl. I am a very patient guy and will be happy to receive the special material I need anytime in the next 20 years or so. Might even have the car running again by then.

    Bob-
How is the interior on the 55 century coming is it all done? Also did you find the fender model script yet? If not why don't you take the script form the other 55's you have till you can find one?

    Rob....
Hey, not so hard on SMS!

I`m not being hard on anyone. I`ve dealt with SMS for a long time and know they aren`t in as big a hurry as I am.

    AL...
Got the Century emblems, thanks to 38Buick.

SMS still owes me the embossed mylar for the top for the door and quarter panels.

Carpet is installed and seats are finished but not installed.

    Re: New project-------1955 66C

    Looking great!
Here's a funny story related to that car: a few days ago I got the following email from Bob ---

    Willie,

Back in 2000 you had a 2 way power seat switch.

    Do you still have it/

    My man has mis-placed mine.

    Bob

(How in the world did he remember that)

I got up and went out to my shop, picked up up an old tail light lens and there it was. (for those that have been to my shop it was the shelf in the corner by the well)

I never throw anything away, but I do forget that I gave something away...that's the usual reason I cannot find something.
Hopefully the switch is serviceable and is the last 1%...If not I have 4-way you can borrow.
(It took longer to find that in the house, since it had been subjected to the wife's filing system)

I've only seen the pictures of this 55, but I have seen some of Bob' s other cars, and Mr E is correct. Bob does great work with his cars.

    Ok guys,

    Here`s an up date.

The Landau was on display all week at the Auto Fair.

The `55 concept won AACA senior.

The Convertible did quite well with AACA first junior on Saturday.

On Sunday, won best of show at the Carolina Chapter BCA.

Also competing with all the best of show winners from all the local clubs, received !st runner up.

I caught Brian Depouli and Nick Seybold walking around.

We did have fun!! AND you do need to make this show!! We took my '38 and the '41 Super Sedan he had and got them up on the banking and snapped a few photos. Nick took them so when I get copies I'll post.

Bob Dever in our chapter took home best unrestored car for all of Autofair for a 64 skylark (featured in the Oct 2012 Bugle) and BCA John Looney was Best of show for the GSCA chapter's display too with a 70 GS (also pictured in the same issue).
