thanks Mudbone= found out what the trouble was.in the the kit i bought for the 55 ,they put in ,56 lifters !!! . let me tell all = 56 parts like lifters do not work in 53-4-55 buicks. they are 1 hd. thous. too tall wicth keeps the valves open all the time. sent for new 55 again and it runs tops now. thanks to all answers. danny.
