| Re: Tracking Parts With A Database Well, some time ago I set up a data base for a catalog library for finding everything from plastic extrusions to ball bearings for a design activity I was involved in. It worked very well and was easy to keep up. It would work for coffee cans, drawers, or even bins. This would use alfa-numerics on the containers. Like parts would not have to be consolidated, but would make manual location a little easier and reduce duplication in the data base. The software is Microsoft Access. If you are interested, I will PM you my data base for catalogs (now obsolete with my retirement in 2001). This would give you an idea on how it worked.
