You have to take the fan off, or at least unbolt it and move it back towards engine block, to get the fan shroud out. Then you can remove the radiator.

FIXED! Yes, it was the radiator! It must have just gotten too bad - they said it was 90% plugged and were able to rod it and clean it out to about 20% plugged - as good as possible without recoring. So, $125 later I put it back in (with new hoses and belts) and no overheating! In fact, it didn't even reach the centerline of the gauge.

Now in the spring I just need to redo the heater core and I'll be set...
