I have used Dexron and have been told by the experts (the late Ralph Crisp) that this is the best replacement for GM Dynaflows, Powerglides and Hydramatics. I have had good luck with it in my 53 Special.

Joe, so you're speaking of Dexron III? The chassis manual for my '64 Wildcat recommends "Type A" for the ST 400.
