I have a 1953 Special Riviera 2 door model 45R. I would like to replace the floor carpeting. I have gathered that from the factory most had a rubber front floor covering and carpeting in the rear, unless there was an option for full carpeting. The rubber is no longer available and even if it was I would prefer carpet in front.
I have found suppliers that offer a molded carpet and cut and sewn types. One of the cut and sewn suppliers claims this is specifically for 53 Specials.
My question to this august body is what would be more authentic and look the best?
On a sperate issue does anyone know if this car came with the little chrome coat hooks on the rear ceiling? The headliner was replaced and I don't know if the coat hooks were covered over or if they never existed on this model.
Thanks for your help.
