47 Buick coils

Any one know of a source for the right style coil for a 47, its the one where the ignition cable goes to a cap that locks on the bottom of the coil.

Re: Buick coils

I've been searching the web and found a company that sells a coil that is the proper fit for my 47 super. The name of the company is Atwater Kent manufacturing Co., anyone ever heard of them/used their services. They also sell a line of other products, and rebuilding services.

Atwater Kent has been around for years they date back to at least the 40's. They used to manufacture radios. In fact I think I used to own one. Cliff

Re: 47 Buick coils

All; Atwater Kent got back to and said they do carry coils for electro lock cap style coils for 1940's GM cars. He left me a message stating that, but did not state a price, If you got to have one he is a source.
