What weight oils?

What weight transmission and differential oils do you folks use?

Motor oil - detergent or non? The engine will be spotless with all new bearings.

Just installed 4 new tires.

Re: What weight oils?

PWN...Use a good grade detergent oil in the engine if you have just rebuilt it. As for the transmission and rear end, modern 180 weight lubricants should work fairly well. I am presently using original 600 weight lub in the transmission of my '28 Lincoln. It seems to quiet it down and make it shift easier.

I would use the old 600 weight for the rear end. Old car can leak with the newer lighter weight oil. Remember the old car where destined for that weight.
