Seeks whereabouts of 27-29 Chandler

My great uncle owned a 27-29 Chandler which he used until 1931 or thereabouts, and parked it in his garage in Nashua, NH since. It sat there until perhaps the late '70s or early 80's. when he sold it to a collector. It was a 4-dr sedan, maroon with black fenders, yellow wheels and yellow pinstriping. Anyone have a picture of this car? Or know what happened to it?

Do you have any records of the car with it's serial number? I have a database of known Chandler cars I could check.

Re: Seeks whereabouts of 27-29 Chandler

I know of a similar car that has been locked up in Wisconsin for the past 24 years. Keep in touch as I plan to obtain the s/n and am very interested to find out what you know about this one. Contact me at kjz_enterprises@hotmail.com Thanks.

Re: Seeks whereabouts of 27-29 Chandler

I just purchased a 1927 chandler big six touring car and need a external oil pump for the motor, I see in your last post that you have a 1928 parts car. Please advise me if you have or know where to find a pump. Thanks

Re: Seeks whereabouts of 27-29 Chandler

Congratulations!
Unfortunately your engine is different from my 1928 small six. The housing on these oil pumps is made of pot metal and rarely survives. I know some of our club members have had to get new pumps made. Are you missing any other parts?

Are you interested in joining our Chandler Clevelend Club? Dues are very cheap. We have a newsletter that arrives 3 times a year. In every issue there are classified ads of nothing, but Chandler and Cleveland parts and cars.

I also run the Registry for these cars and would love to make sure your car is properly recorded. Send me an email if you are interested. gorms68@earthlink.net

Re: Seeks whereabouts of 27-29 Chandler

Yes, I will be joining the club. I have to get my e-mail working first.
I can only read my mail and can send nothing out. I will be signing up soon. Even if I can find a broke oil pump to build off of that will be ok to. The only things that are missing right now on the car is the radiator cap, 4 rims and the the bar that goes between the 2 head lights, and the oil pump. The last owner sent out the oil pump years ago to have it rebuilt and he forgot who he sent it to... This guy had a bunch of antique cars at one time and he sent a lot of stuff out for repair, He is 85 years old now. I will be going over to get the wheels tonight I hope,,,,, and maybe the cap and the bar that I think is missing. I even found the original screw jack and handle and a special service wrench under the front sent of the car, This was such a great find and I'am a proud owner of a Chandler........ I will be in touch

Sounds like a real find David. The screw jack and handle are very rare. Please get in touch with me when your email is working.

Re: looking for a old oil pump housing

I need a external oil pump housing for a chandler big 6 from 1925 to 1929, It can be cracked up,,, I don't care.. I will be using it just to get measurement's off of and try to make the new pump original as I can. If I can come up with this housing, nobody will have the problem with finding a oil pump for the big 6 chandler engine that needs one. If anyone has this housing please e-mail me @ debey@cox.net Please list oil pump under SUBJECT because of so much junk mail that I get. Thanks, David
