| Re: 1959 Rambler engine color Guess the horse is already out of the barn, but the 196 cid OHV six in my '61 American is "machinery grey" ( block, oil pan, head) with a red valve cover. Starter & genny are black.
The OHV 196 is an adaptation of the L-head six, so the grey is probably the same for both,
They look like "standard" colors to me.
Probably "old Ford red" and Chevy Stovebolt grey would come REAL close.
