This beautiful 1931 Cord L-29 cabriolet (#2929409) is at the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum in Fairbanks, AK. It was previously owned by Gary Littrell (AZ), who had it on display at the Volo Museum for many years. Beyond that, I have been unable to find out any more of its history.
It's a spectacular car--it's only been driven 14,000 miles--and still has its original upholstery and top. It looks identical to the Cord pictured on page 56 of "Automobile Quarterly's Word of Cars" book (1971), which notes the owner as Michael Bobek. That photo was taken in Auburn, IN. Do any of you remember our Cord? I have checked with the ACD Club, ACD Museum, the above-mentioned book's photographer, Paul Bryant and Jim O'Brien, but they did not know of any prior owners. Paul did recall examining it for certification in Las Vegas years ago.
First of all that is a beautiful car! I strongly recommend you post this question up at the ACD Club Forum in the L-29 forum. You will likely hear back from more L-29 experts there. Here is a link:
