Lately I've been finding some great material on "The Old Motor" and posting them here. I hope they don't mind

The Students of Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill, staged a mock political convention at the campus and this was the Republican section of a procession they assembled on April 25, 1936. Alf Landon and Frank Knox ran against democrat Franklin Roosevelt and John Garner who won in a electoral landslide against the pair.
The vehicles they used for this exhibition included from left to right what has been iden-tifed by readers as a 1935 Desoto, a 1929 Packard phaeton and a Duesenberg phaeton which may have been bodied by LeBaron or possibly La Grande. We are hopeful that Duesenberg historians will tell us more about this car which was wearing a dealer plate at the time. It would be very interesting to know if this car has survived to this day.
