I have a 52 Stleline special, 216 CI. It runs great but will vapor lock once shut off and not start until cool. The lock is between the pump and carb. I have tried rerouting the line away form the block and radiator inlet hose, double gasketing the pump, wraping the line with heat resistant tape and covering the tape with a special heat resistant hose. No luck. I am now considering removing the pump and going to an electric pump. I welcome other suggestions.

Are you sure the carb bowl is not boiling dry? Have had that trouble more than vapor lock in the line.
