Found this on craigslist and insanity set in and next thing you know its in my driveway looking at me.

needs alot of work i know and alot of parts to make this complete. still they are hard to find and have great lines. if anyone knows of where there is doors , windshield frame etc i could use some leads.

Wow! Cool car! I'm partial to coupes. You are VERY lucky to have the deck lid, but the doors will be difficult to find, I believe. I have seen folks start out with less and I will be watching and hopefully helping in your reconstruction. I will keep my eyes open for some doors for you. John

way i understand only 1933 doors will fit although maybe the door truck doors will as well as the sedan doors with some modification? i honestly dont know myself . i really prefer coupe doors cause of the damage and cutting that has been done to try and line everything back in place.

even middle of the dash is cut out where the gauges went , very sad to see but someone evidently wanted it.

even the decklid handle is intact how it has managed i dont know , i just need to remove it later so i can open the trunk as i cant at this moment. the floor area in back looks pretty good to me.

When you get that far, you can get the wood for the top insert and the complete windshield with frame and hardware from N/C Industries in Sayre, PA.

Well you will have a great car when completed. I have several 1933 Plymouth's and Dodge's. Parts are next to impossible to find. I would suggest trying to find a donor 33PD if possible. I bought a 33 pd 4 dr. sedan about 4 yrs ago that was used as a donor for parts. Many PD parts are interchangeable, frames, hardware, running boards, splash aprons etc. etc. The doors on a coupe only work on a coupe. You can modify 4dr. sedan doors for use on pick ups. watch ebay for parts, I do have some things that you could use. I do have a 33 Pd frame but shipping it would be very expensive.

    Good luck with your project.

    Sincerly,

    Scott

When I had things stripped down that far, I was able to put my '33 PD frame in the back of my '63 Dodge D200 pickup with the car frame extending over the cab to haul it to the people who stripped it and did the electrostatic painting. So if you have a pickup truck and a person to help load shipping shouldn't be horrible.

From both your and Jen_'s signatures you are both in California. Mind if I ask where. If not too far I'd like to motor on over in my '33 and have a look see at what you both are working on.

Just my opinion: GREAT YARD ART, but 1/10th of the way into this project you are going to be seriously questioning why you didn't just wait to find a better project car.

I agree with StillOutThere. This is really a donor car or ,God forbid, needs to be hot rodded. There isn't much here and I can see several years and $30,000 passing through your family budget before this car is licenced for the road. Although it's against my 'religion' to recommend you hot rod it,I can't see this car being finsihed before you run out of patience or money or marraige. Look for something much more complete. Fords and GMs are easier to restore because of their greater portion of the hobby but CPDD stuff is,and always has been, rare and hard to get parts for. You WILL question your sanity before your ever finish this.

yes i am questioning my sanity at this point and maybe your right that this one needs to be hot rodded due to how much is missing. but we will see how this goes as to what i can find for it. the hardest part for me right now is a pair of doors from what i can tell this is going to be hardest part. and i'm glad i'm not married as i would be having to sign divorce papers when i got it in the driveway , giggles

This is the kind of car to learn all about sheet metal repair; welding, shrinking, patch panels, and bead rolling, etc.
And there is nothing wrong about that, just watch the cash.

Re: 1933 Plymouth PD Coupe Find

I found two pairs of running boards for you to choose from. One set is from a 1933 DeSoto and the other pair is from a 1934 Plymouth which I believe are the same as '33. The Plymouth items also have the side splash aprons that go up to the body, but those may not fit the '33 Plymouth. I see that you have a set on your car that are fairly rough and these that I have access to are not at all rough. John
