1931 Plymouth ties rod ends...where to find?
I bought a front and rear axle from a '31 PLymouth to use under my '31 Dodge Serie F10...frontend was a perfect fit, just needed to relocate the spring perches for the rear...and all's good to run some steel wheels...
ANyway, I'd like to replace the tierod ends on the front for sure, but can't seem to locate a source...I tried Kanter and Roberts and they only list from '34 up.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Bob,
I found his website, but he only list's 34-up as well.
You know, if this thing was a Ford, I'd be stumbling over parts...I think we older Mopar folks are gluttons for punishment
Thanks.

Try giving Andy a call Monday. He may have the parts. He has stuff that isn't listed on the web site.

Re: 1931 Plymouth ties rod ends...where to find?
Hi Guys,
got the same problem. Looking for Tie Rod End's as well. Tried EGGE , but they don't have them. Same with Rare Parts - No.: 25106 right outer and 26424 left outer. Would take a pair, but the right outer Tie Rod end on my PA is in bad condition and have to be replaced asap!
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1931 Plymouth ties rod ends...where to find?
searched the net once again and found parts by JC Whitney. Not sure if this Tie Rod Ends really fit the PA and JC is not shipping overseas anyway. But maybe you can have a look on this Parts by your local store?

I don't see '31 Dodge tie rod ends on their site which actually surprised me. They do have a policy of trying to supply for all cars so if they don't have the part and you have an example they will use that to create shop drawings and manufacture it. They also then add it to their list of available parts. So even if they don't currently carry the '31 Dodge Brothers tie rod ends (how different could they be from other Chrysler built vehicles of that year?) they can help you.

When I look at the Rare Parts web site it sure looks like they carry the tie rod ends to me, so I am confused by the "Tried EGGE , but they don't have them. Same with Rare Parts"
My association with Rare Parts is one as a satisfied customer: They actually make the odd ball tubular drag link for my car, saved having me to get a machine shop from making one from scratch.

Re: 1931 Plymouth ties rod ends...where to find?
Hi,
sorry for confusing you - think is kind of a language problem, sorry for that.
Just to claify:
I placed an Order via the EGGE web side and contacted EGGE, asked about the expect deliverydate. He told me the tie rod end is not currently available and "we are not sure when it will be available". Made him aware that "Rare Parts" got the Parts on there web side, too. The guy from EGGE came back to me and told me "Rare Parts" rebuild the old core only. They do not have them in stock.
As far as I understand you. Rare Parts can make them, without sending the old one to there shop. Will contact them in order to clarify that.
Many thanks to you for your help and sorry for the confusion

It is my understanding that they might need the old one in order to measure it and create the shop drawings (or the equivalent computer files) to manufacture new ones.

Re: 1931 Plymouth ties rod ends...where to find?
Tod,
you are right. They need a sample to make the part..
I send drawings from my worn out part to "Rare Parts" and they tried to come up with a part that would work, but no success.
So, how many guys here need to have this tie rod ends? Someone living closer to California then I do ;-) and can send a sample to "Rare Parts"?
I would contribute to the costs! Would be very appreciated if you get in toucch with me.
Thanks
