    Brakes on 8-Lug Wheel Cars?

I got curious about something yesterday... do the '60s-vintage Pontiacs with the 8-lug wheels use the same brake components (wheel cyls, shoes) as the cars with the standard steel wheels? (Hmmm... I just looked on the internet and apparently it isn't that simple at all!)

Hi Doug, yup, all the brake components are the same except the hub/drum and the wheel.

hi oldsdoug, poci1957 is correct, i used to have a 1960 pontiac bonneville coupe, i bought a set of 1968 pontiac eight lug wheels and drums, all i had to do was to have the lip of the front drums machined down to clear the 60's backing plate, 68 front drums are wider than 60 front drums. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor, poci.
