1941 Pontiac Silver Streak

<img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
I have acquired a 1941 Silver Streak that has been painted as a WW2 Staff Car; I want to restore it back to its original colour. The only indication to a colour code I can find is under the hood where there is a plaque with - PAINT 147. Can any one help me discover the cars original colour? Please.

I tried autocolorlibrary.com, but didn't come up with a 147 for 1941.

Re: 1941 Pontiac Silver Streak

Sorry I can't help you with paint codes. That is one thing I have never collected data on. However one thing I would point out (having collected Pontiacs for 50 years and having owned up to seven at the same time {all licenced ad driven). Pontic Division of General Motors never ever built a "Silver Streak" model. They had Standard, De Luxe, Master, De Luxe Six, De Luxe eight, Quality Six, De Luxe 120, Streamliner, Custom, Torpedo in both Six and Eight, Chiefton, Chiefton De Luxe and Chiefton Super De Luxe, and Star Chief between 1935 and 1955. In 1941 they built 41-25 Deluxe Torpedo Six, 41-27 De Luxe Torpedo Eight, 41-26 Streamliner Torpedo Six, 41-28 Streamliner Torpedo Eight, 41-24 Custom Torpedo Six and 41-29 Custom Torpedo Eight. There is no record in GM literature or nomenclature that the term "Silver Streak was ever used officially.

Re: 1941 Pontiac Silver Streak

Perhaps military olive drab was the color and that might explain the inability to know the paint code color.
