I'm not clear what "drophead mechanism" you are talking about. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image.../confused.gif" alt="" />
But I may be able to help.

Not the hood hood , but the top, thats the hood, the bonnet is the hood, he's wants to know about the bloody top Irons and bows mech'isms...
    the hood is the top,
the hood folds into the boot,
the boot is the trunk which is not the hood or the bonnet

OK top iron and bows it is.
We have a copy of original parts lists and prices but no illustrations.
Part No. 1402B Roadster Top Assembly $54.50 list.
No boot (trunk) dicky seat instead. Top should fold flat hopefully clear of HD.
Question - was frame steel or timber or combination.
    NZ nomenclature from dumb irons/grill/bonnet/scuttle/door pillar/B pillar/rear quater/boot/tail. roof/hood or turret.

Greetings from New Zealand and thanks for any help you can give.

    OK, I understand now. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image...s/shocked.gif" alt="" />

I know an Aussie who has an '18 Oakland. From what he has said, they shipped the chassis without the body overseas, for some import/export limitations. I don't know if it is the same for NZ or not. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image.../confused.gif" alt="" />

I can tell you that frame & chassis parts are metal, U.S. bodies of that time are wood, with a sheet metal cover, and lead used to cover the seams. Bows were usually wood and metal as well.

I know I have a manual for a 34C, possibly a 34B as well. I will get scan the bows and send them to you in a private message, hope it helps some.

Thank you for your email. We would appreciate having some idea of how the Roof Bows operate. We have the remains of the screen pillars and assume the roof, when closed, clamps to these. From the pieces we have, the complete car could have arrived here!
