I have a rolling chassis that I believe to be an early 30's Cadillac V16. The rear end housing has a Cadillac cast on it along with a casting number 878181. The wheel base measures 149" and the wire wheels are 20" The hupcaps are missing, but were threaded type which also covered the lug bolts, The brakes are 16" internal expanding, mechanical drum. The front shocks are Delco lever type hydraulic. The only number I can find on the frame is 7679 on the left front motor mount area.
Should there be more numbers elsewhere on the frame?
Can someone identify as to year and so forth as I will be listing this for sale?

It looks to be a 1930 V-16 chassis. There's a poster looking for a chassis. What luck for both of you. If the # you mentioned is actually 7-679 , that is how the frame # looked. Remember ,Cadillac went by the engine #. Also, the wheelbase would be only 148". There may be someone in the Cadillac LaSalle club with invoice info that could determine what body style was on your chassis. HTH, Bob
