WTB 31 Dodge Gas Pedal
I am looking for an original '31 Dodge Gas Pedal. I have a DG 8 but I believe that there is no difference between models (DD, DC, DH, DG), and it may be the same between '30, '31 and '32, I don't know. If you have one of these laying about and would be interested in selling it send me a PM and let me know what you have and what you would need for it. Thanks... Scott

If you post a picture it would be helpfull, I have plenty of DA 29/30 pedals that might work no charge.

Re: WTB 31 Dodge Gas Pedal
I don't have much left of the existing pedal but I did take the bottom piece that I have remaining and took several pictures with a ruler to show you the size. I've no idea how long it is as I do not have the top of the pedal. I am hopping that this helps and you can identify what the pedal is from these. Thanks... Scott

Re: WTB 31 Dodge Gas Pedal
Cant help I guess, mine is a small round steel disk, sorry. Best and possibly only bet would be to find out if entire portion of pedal that is missing is simply a hard cast rubber and make one of your own.
I like the details of the rubber and certaintely would not be thrown off or discouraged from these. Its amazing the detail that can be brought out with the correct mold.
I am sure there are other 8 cyl. owners that could give you dimensions and pict.

Thanks for trying. It's funny that you suggest to mold my own because that is something that I was considering. And you're right, the detail is amazing. I still hope to find a complete pedal, if anything at least to make a mold from, I'm up to it. Again, thanks... Scott

Re: WTB 31 Dodge Gas Pedal
You can and will find one eventually, best bet is too possibly join the D.B club and get ahold of other DG 8 owners and maybe someone will have an extra from a parts car or maybe someone will let you borrow theirs to use as a pattern. To be honest I wouldnt count on that though and it would possibly be much more rewarding for you to draw the thing to scale, router out a wooden pattern and pour your own part.
I have messed around with this a bit myself and find it an enjoyable learning experience ( except when I screw it up ) so let me know if I can help.
Jack Carpenter who is a member of the club does excellent repro. rubbers for early Dodges, he wrote an article in a past D.B. newsletter that I have copies of. Let me know if you would like me to scan and send you these.
I do wonder what happened to the rest of your pedal, although I havent seen nearly enough pict. of your car what I have seen looks to be in decent shape and that pedal is so rough.
Chances are I guess that it never had a full length steel backer, I would assume that it has not completely rotted away although many of the rubber items in my own car such as draft pads did have steel inserts.

The 1931 DH6 pedal is the same as the DG8. I have a complete, but broken one. I will try post a photo and add dimensions for you.

Re: WTB 31 Dodge Gas Pedal
The pedal is 10 1/2" from the top of the curve to the bottom of the rubber on the steel heel. Here are some photos I just took. Sorry if blurry....The steel rib inside looks to be spring steel. The rubber circle pops onto the shaft for the throttle linkage that goes through the floor.

Thanks for the additional info, the length helps a lot. Yep, sure looks like the pattern in the remaining piece that I have. I'm going to assume that the rubber circle is formed as an extension of the surface through a hole in the metal backing. Now, since that I am missing this piece (the top part) I would have a challange to replicate the upper without some sort of backing. I'm still going to maintain my search for a complete pedal, it's not something that I need today but sooner would be better than when I truly need it. Thanks... Scott
