It was such a gorgeous day, I thought I would enjoy it to it's fullest and go for a cruise in the '31. Nothing new....nearly an every day occurrence. Here is the video of part of it...

Very cool.
Beautiful day here too. Maybe I'll open the shed doors and go sit on my chassis and make some engine noises!
BTW, lucky there is no traffic - you are driving on the wrong side of the road...![]()

I did. I went out and opened the garage door and sat in the body ( even though it's sitting on a trailer ). I think I've watched your video five times now ! What a hoot !
Joh, I love it! Yes, inspiration is what you have provided with your videos! I'm going to post some pictures here soon of our progress! Dennis & I went to the mini meet in Ohio last weekend and had a blast! We got to ride in a 1918 & 1926! First time for me and it was awesome! I loved it and cannot wait to get our car done! I have so enjoyed your videos & your enthusiasm! It's like watching a little kid at Christmas! Can't wait to see you in Detroit!
You have to be crazy to keep your sanity!

John, just saw the video...what a fun drive in a great car and such a nice road to drive it on too!
John if you ever come to Western Australia you are very welcome to stay with Kerry & myself as a guest We have a large home and there is only the 2 of us so there is plenty of room The same goes for anyone else who cares to venture down our way Ron ps Only 1 condition you have to have a DB
Those videos are indeed inspirational, John. It lifts the spirits!
I have always wondered why we have evolved two different systems; i.e.driving either left or right hand sides of the road. Your earliest cars were right hand drive I believe; the same as the earliest European cars. Only the British Empire, as far as I know, stuck with right hand drive.
One theory which I have heared, was that Henry Ford found it convenient to mass produce left drive cars and sheer numbers dictated the way to go. Is there truth in this or is it just as good an explanation as any other?

What I would REALLY love to do is to have someone video my car from outside...following and passing so that I could see how well my wheels track and to check out other possible things I need to work on.

That reminded me of a "Darwin Awards" story I heard a few years ago. Bloke couldn't figure out where the vibration noise was coming from under his ute so he strapped himself under the truck and got his buddy to drive down the highway. He came to a sad end when he got wound around the tailshaft!![]()

I have done a bit of digging on this. It stems from people mostly being right handed. Originally, horsemen would hold the reins in their left hand; leaving their right hand free to do battle; so they would direct the horse to the left. This was carried over into the motoring age, although why Europe changed their cars to left hand drive remains ambiguous with various unsubstantiated theories.
John, you are right to question the 'Henry Ford' theory -the practice of right side of the road driving pre - dates him by quite a margin!
The frontier waggon trains drawn by several pairs of horses apparently did not have a driver's seat. The 'Teamster' would sit astride the rear left animal and would prefer any passing waggon to go to his left so that he could watch the wheels and ensure they did not clash not clash......so that's why you guys drive on the right.

Begs the question... Why did he sit on the left rear animal?

"Everyone is entitled to my opinion!"
"If you help someone when they're in trouble, they will remember you when they're in trouble again."
Being right handed, he had better control of the horses I should imagine.
