    Question Stromberg carburettors

Can any one tell me what the differences are between a Stomberg UX2 and a UX3 I know that a 2249 Senior 6 is fitted with a UX3. I have several UX2s in various stages of decay. I have been able to make up 1 UX2 wich is on my car however I would like to get jet & venturi sizes if possible. Thankyou

    Re: Stromberg carburettors

Stromberg "codified" their carburetor models long before the computer.

    "U" - standard model
    "X" - cross flange
    "2" - S.A.E. size 2 (nominal 1.25 inch carburetor, 2 11/16 center-to-center bolt spacing)
    "3" - S.A.E. size 3 (nominal 1.5 inch carburetor, 2 15/16 center-to-center bolt spacing)

The model designation tells one only the PHYSICAL size and type. Calibrations will vary. Stromberg usually would have approximately 5 different internal venturii for each physical model. Fuel calibrated parts would vary as well.

The most expensive carburetor you will ever buy....is the wrong one for the application that you attempt to modify!
