Dang, If I could only sell my Fast Four Sedan I'd be interested or would you give me a discount if I haul a DA-6 motor and tranny for you from Spokane . Does it run?

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

Jim, I no longer need the motor since I'm selling the car. I just bought the AAR 'cuda that I owned 24 years ago and have regretted selling ever since.

The DA was purchsed this winter from Bob Scafani in Fremont, a hardcore early dodge guy.

It is a nice, straight, rustfree car, and all of the parts are there. It was 95% restored back in the 70's and has sat ever since. Everything appears to have benn fully rebuilt, but the car just wasn't finished.

I truly believe someone could get it running and on the road after a long weekend's work.

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

What are you asking, if that is known than someone could let the word out that it is available but without a price the impression is in my opinion that if one has to ask than one prob. cant afford

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

Sorry for the confusion. I have the price on the website. I am asking $10,500, which I think is reasonable. It truly is a very nice car and would take very little to complete.FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE-paso-dodge-da-037.jpgFOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE-paso-dodge-da-038.jpg

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

You are clearly a fan of early Dodge Brothers cars and have an interest in the hot rod scene as well. Is there any way to ensure that this little beauty will be spared the fate of so many others or is it's future now held in the ballance?

Even people who "promise" not to hotrod a car or truck may change their minds, so I would say, "no...there is no way to ensure it will remain all original". Unless of course you buy it yourself and "save" it.

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

I am a realist, John. I fully understand the potential for a buyer to make a stupid decision. What I am hoping is that Pete will endeavour to find someone who appreciates the car for what it is rather than what they would like it to be. As for me buying the car, I already have five and I think that is enough to be going on with.

Yes, that's true. I was once "that guy" who promised a seller I wouldn't hot rod his '34 Dodge coupe but eventually ended up doing so. The bright side is that I learned my lesson, and wouldn't do it again. There's actually a 241 and a 270 hemi, as well a a couple of hopped-up flathead sixes sitting next to the DA as I type, but even I can't bring myself to do that to this rust-free, original survivor. It is WAY too nice for that, and ideally it should be preserved. I do sincerely hope it doesn't get rodded, and will do my best to sell it to the "right" person, but unfortunately it seems the only action I'm getting right now is from my hot rod buddies. Quick, somebody give Leno a call ~ I'll hold out as long as I can!

    Dave,

I am in Bozeman. I keep meaning to get over there to take more photos, but the DA buried behind 5 cars, only 2 of which run, so my motivation to do so has been quite low. I will "cowboy up" (as they say in Montana) and do so this week. I see you are in Montana as well. You are more than welcome to come and inspect it any time you want! The car is in my storage unit by Four Corners.

Feel free to PM me for my phone number.

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

I hope this does not turn into another deal where this car is advertised here and time goes on and no-one buys it and then we all have to hear about it being cut up and rodded because no-one here bought it. Please spare all of us that. Do what you want with your car but just dont try and make us all feel bad because none of us do not have any money.

If I had the money I would pay you what you are asking or pretty close since I dont think you are that far off and I am sure other here would as well.

    Thanks for the consideration

[QUOTE=1930;1075036]Do what you want with your car but just dont try and make us all feel bad because none of us do not have any money
    QUOTE]

I'm not quite sure what this means ~ I stated in a post above that I would rather not see the car hot rodded. While I do appreciate ALL kinds of classic cars (survivors, trailer queens, drivers, race cars... and yes, even well done traditional hot rods), this car is not the right candidate for hot rodding because it is such a nice original car. If I was rich, I'd let the DA sit in a corner and not worry about it for a decade or two, but alas, I'm not, and I could use the money to restore another one of my car's... one that will ultimately be worth considerably more money once completed.

You seem knowledable. I'm glad you think I'm on track with my pricing. I feel it's worth every penny.

I too hope it goes to a good home,

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

Being far away here in Blighty, this is beyond my grasp but if I may make a suggestion which may or may not have been thought of. One of the ways to sell an antique car is through an auction house in a specialist car auction. The kind of buyer you get is more likely to be sympathetic than if sold on Ebay. The downside, I have to admit, is the amount of commission charged - although you might be able to negotiate a reasonable rate in these tough times. Our local auction house regularly holds vintage car sales and charges 5%.

This forum is probably not the very best place to offer a car for sale because most of us already have our hands full with our own cars and fewer people have the spare cash to splash these days.

I hope you find a sympathetic buyer who can finish the restoration; it's almost there!

Re: FOR SALE ~ 1929 DODGE DA DELUXE RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

PS ~ I have all of the parts to complete the car, but are not included in the photos. Trim, grill shell, headlights, cowl lights, etc... everything.

The car is complete. I removed the fenders to see what it would look like as a hot rod (that is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
They are off because they were loosely bolted on when I bought the car and I want to inspect the body behind them. Both the fenders and the body are immaculate!

The only issues that I am aware of are ~

    Original headliner is ripped.
Windshield is broken (accident in the trailer).
Radiator shell needs re-chroming (stripped to copper)
Misc parts (inc.) need to be put back on car (bumpers, cowl lights, etc.)
    Shock straps are rotted.
Engine and headlight wiring needs to terminated.

BUY IT, you will not be disappointed!
