Have you talked to Dave Johnson in Oregon? What size thread are the fast fours?

No, I haven't talked to Dave Johnson. Would you happen to have a number or address?

The stud is 3.5" long with 7/16-20 threads. The threads extend approximately 1" in from one end and 3/4" in from the other end.

Dave advertises in the DB newsletter. If you have the tools to do it,try McMaster-Carr, they have an online catelog. What I did, for my '24 was buy "B7" alloy threaded rod from McM-Carr. B7 is much better material then regular hardware store all-thread. I forget the tensile strenght, the catelog will have it. Been using mine for 2 years with no problem. If you have a stripped thread in your block, I still have some helicoils left over from mine. What I did was drilled a block of steel about the same thickness as head. Used it to torque down each individual head stud to see if they would pull out of block. That way I didn't ruin a new gasket.

Thanks, I'll check out both sources. I don't think I'll need the heli-coil, but thanks for the offer as well.
