Battery ground

Can anyone tell me if a 1940 Plymouth has a positive or negative battery ground?

Thanks.

Re: Battery ground

Hi,
According to charts I have for figuring out which vibrators are used in antique car radios, all MOPAR were positive ground up to '55. I hope this helps.

Re: Battery ground

Roger,

The battery was indeed in backwards. I'm really surprised that it ran. My friend went through 4 batteries in the last year. His shop kept on putting them in with the polarity reversed (negative ground). We set it up right and now it seems OK. His radio was one casualty of this fiasco. Otherwise, everything is back to normal.

Thanks again for the info.
