    1937 Dodge Hollander Help Needed

I have a 1937 Dodge Pickup with the Windshield Regulator Assembly Part Number listed as: 745251 and Bracket Part Number listed as: 489233.

Would someone please check out their Hollander Interchange Manual to see what other vehicles used these numbers and what part numbers interchanged with them?

From what I can tell, these parts fit 1937 Dodge MC, MD, ME, MF and MH trucks as well as 1937 Plymouth PT50's.

I think that they also fit the 1938 model trucks.

My potmetal bracket broke and I need to know what other part numbers and makes and models could be used as replacements. My bracket has the number "265" cast on the right front side. I have seen some brackets with "259" on them but do not know their part numbers and have been told that they fit only on cars.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for checking, Phil. So far I have found out that the 1937 and 38 Dodge and Plymouth trucks used a housing with 265 cast on it. Some housings used splined handle shafts and some (like my 1937 MC) used a square handle shaft.

    Elmer,

Did you ever find the windshield regulator in this thread? I am in need of one as well for my '38 Plymouth PT-57. If anyone knows of one out there, please let me know.

    Thanks,

Elmer, Is there any way the broken casting can be repaired? The method I was thinking of is to clean it really well, No traces of oil, wire wheel the mating part carefully to get down to shiny metal, then using a strong epoxy like Marine Tex. The drawback is the forces put on this part where it broke and perhaps even the clearance where there would be a bead of epoxy evident along the repair. I've checked all my books and have come up with zilch for an interchange.

    Paul,
Can you glean any more info out of this post?
    Here's a part for those '36 & '37 guys
This one is the splined shaft version.

Elmer might be on vacation. Mine broke on my '35, and I brought it to a welder who replicated the pot metal housing perfectly in steel. He used the other parts that weren't pot metal, got it all back together, and it worked perfectly.

How did he do that? Was it a casting in steel?

No casting, just cobbled together chunks of steel to make it work. It looked crude alright, but it cranked great!

That's the name of the game - especially for uber hard to find parts that are essentially unseen.
