How do I pull the rea axle shaft
How do I pull the rea axle shaft
Wrap your hands around it, arch your back and sorta lean backward, you will feel a strain on your fingers and it is with this strain that you will know you are pulling it.![]()

Do you have a book of information for the car? Pullin the rear axle is much like any other car, maybe try and be more specific on what you are having problems with.
I would be more than happy to find the secific information you are needing, are you trying to replace the axle?
BTW, I see its your first post, welcome and would you share pictures and a little history of your car, lots of nice people here that would enjoy seeing what you have.

Are you trying to pull the rear hub off?
I remember dad saying he had trouble getting the rear hubs of our 1930 Desoto 8 Sedan.
He ended up making a big puller from a piece of plate to get them off.

On 31DH put nut back on axle after pulling hub and take backing plate off wrap 5/16 or 3/8 logging chain around axle and with about 1ft slack snap the chain a few times and the axle came out.
If you are changing bearings there is a ridge between bearings on the axle and need to take bearing of each end of axle. Good luck.
NO I will not rod the 1930 DC8
No the axle shaft have puller for the hubs
That is a nice car you have there mate!
