How do I remove the oil filler tube?

I believe that the oil filler tube is just pushed down into the block. You might try using some PB Blaster oil penterate on it then attempt to dislodge it by rotating it from left to right. gently tap on the block with a hammer as well. I am sure that it is really stuck..

did you ever get the oil filler tube out of your block.. you never said??

No. It appeared to have some type of setscrew through the casting into it, which was then sheared or ground off. I did not want to get into a situation I could not get out of, so I left it alone. The man at the shop said it would not be in danger while in the hot tank, so I left it alone.
By the way, the block took three weeks of cooking in the hot tank to get it clean. I will be picking it up in two days.
