1957 Oldsmobile Ground

Hello, this might sound like a dumb question, but I keep questioning myself about if my 57 is a positive or negative ground off battery, I have no way to look this up.

hi dana, having owned two 1957 oldsmobiles in my past,lol, i can tell you that the olds is negative (-) ground. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor.

The braided and uninsulated cable (if original) is the negative ground cable on 57 Olds - true for prior years as well and into the mid sixties before the ground cable became insulated.
