1955 98 Holiday Coupe Heater

As I understand the Owner's Manual and previous threads on this subject, if I am getting heat inside the car while driving even though the "Heat" knob/cable is all the way in, then the heater control valve is not working properly. Is this correct? Thanks.

Either that or the control cable is loose/broken/out of adjustment..........Bob

The valve could also be bad or the valve is bad (leaking) and bypassed entirely. I did that on my 55 in my poorer days.

Actually, the cables, control valve, hoses and all heater components look new and move effortlessly in this recently restored car. The valve has not been bypassed and there are no leaks. Guess it's just a bad valve, but wanted other input before pulling this nice looking unit all apart. Thanks for your help, Ron.
