new guy sayn hi/buying olds starfire
hi my name is john,im a new guy to this forum,and oldsmobiles ive had mopars in the past,so this is new to me.im gonna be picking up a 1966 olds
starfire(currently not running),guy said it ran,started overheating,and he parked it in his backyard.motor appears to be all there,down to the the carb (which was alittle frozen at first but i freed it up)and single snorkel aircleaner with starfire pie tin on it.white,auto console with tach on the floor.of course car needs work,has some rust,4 flat tires.im getting the starfire for 400.00,did i make a good deal?are there things i should be aware of when working on this car?parts?etc...thanks..john

John, that sounds like a good buy.
Get yourself the factory service manual and don,t get in a hurry.
DON,T try to start the car until you have cleaned the fuel system.
That will save you a lot of headaches.
