Cutlass Aluminum Bumpers

There is a 1984 Cutlass on eBay with 2 codes listed that I have never seen before. VD6 is the code for a front aluminum bumper. VD7 is the code for a rear aluminum bumper. Does anyone know how rare these bumpers are?

I suspect that it's not the bumpers themselves, but the underlying bars... I know that on the earlier full-size cars, some got steel bars and some got aluminum. Without looking at a picture, I think the model in question may have had body-colored "goo" "bumpers" and the metal pieces were underneath.
