'50 Gas Tank Replace or Repair?
Removed the tank which is not leaking but has alot of chocolate colored sludge in it. Also can't get the sending unit out due to rusted phillips head screws. I a repro tank made for this car? (50 88 2 door sedan)If so who makes them and approx $?
Has anyone had experience, positive or negative, with RENU repair?
Should I expect that the sending unit is burned out since the car was started and run several times on 12 volts?
Thanks, Bob

Re: '50 Gas Tank Replace or Repair?
give consideration to having a radiator shop look at your tank. they should be able to let it soak in a bath for a day or so. its worth a shot, because generally, it is just cheaper to repair than replace. i would think that the sending unit is okay, but the only positive way of knowing is to test it.
