| Re: 1927 oldsmobile vin I wouldn't call it a VIN number since most cars of that era had both a chassis or frame number and a different engine number. I am not an Olds owner, but I expect the since it is a GM car, the chassis plate will be behind the left front wheel like most Buicks of that era.
Some states used the engine number for registration which caused lots of issues when engine swaps were done. However, most used the frame or chassis number.
