    Tach hook-up

OK I can't find the old thread where someone mentioned a 5-wire tach hook-up so if you know please post. I got an old 6/12 v tach at the swap meet for $5 and believe it will work but ain't sure of wire colors: black= ground, red= battery positive, blue = instrument light?, green and yellow and maybe the blue are in question. Is one for an ignition hot source? Dangit, I had this exact tach years befor on my Volvo 122s too and can't remember!

    Re: Tach hook-up

If you have determined which wires are +,-, and light then the 2 wires left go to distributor and coil or + and - terminals of coil (which ever is easyer), I think. In other words, it goes in parallel with primary winding of Ignition transformer (coil). Did you look on Internet for the Manufacturer and see if there is any info on it?
