    901 Radiator question

When my friend was installing his radiator, he put the 2 springs on the bottom of the crossbar. I seem to remember the springs being on top of the crossbar the radiator sits on. Which is correct.. springs on top or bottom of the crossbar.

Part 2: He and I both had two square rubber pads on top of the crossbar. Steele sells the 2 square pads, and two round ones. The catalog says both are used. Where do the round pads go?

Thank you all for you help...B

Ji=ust took mine off. The sequence of mine were rubber pad, metal plate springs and then nut all below cross bar.

The rubber pad goes under the radiator on top of the crossbar. The metal plates springs and nuts go below the crossbar.

    Re: 901 Radiator question

Boy I don't recall having that setup on my '31. I wonder if the radiator was taken out in the past and then they didn't reinstall the spring etc.

Answer my own question here pg 108 of the part list item 191786 only calls out springs for the 901-904. Wonder why the change?

    Re: 901 Radiator question

Just confirming an earlier response, the radiator weight sits on the rubber pads, the balance of the hardware goes below the frame channel.

The square pad is what was under the radiator when I removed it, but, Steele says in their paper catalog the oval one is used also...where does it go? thanks to everyone, B
