| Welcome to the NEW AACA forums! After 11 years of using the same forum software, I, with the approval of the AACA Board of Directors decided it was time to change.
Effective today (June 26th, 2009) the forum is now residing on new software. For those of you who want to know, it's call vBulletin.
There are COUNTLESS changes. I can not list them all here. I simply suggest you lift the hood and start poking around! If you have questions there is an extensive FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS database. Just click the "FAQ" link in the menu bar (above).
There remains countless details to address to make this forum better, faster, prettier, etc. Regardless, I know how addicted you all are to the forum so I chose to open it, even with the rough corners.
Thanks for your patience.

| Thanks. Peter, Thanks for all of your hard work to get the new software up and running. I know that I am not the only one happy to see it up and running.

| ELEVEN YEARS ON OLD SOFTWARE? (I love this smiley!)
Wow, well now the myth that in information technology world everyhing must be updated after 3-5 years has been proven FALSE
Thanks a lot Peter, I can imagine HOW HARD is to upgrade that old software to a new one and still hope that old messages and users are visible in the new software!
Thanks a lot!!

| it appears I have lost any and all personal messages .... and I knew there was one that I needed to respond to
edit
all the "settings" were reset and the little popup was not bouncing
I found some of the messages, not all
oh, and i LIKED the old way where you could edit without having the "edit" tell tale appear
edit:
ok, found the rest of the messages now ... this will be awkward for a while

| Re: Welcome to the NEW AACA forums! GREAT ! Love that new AACA "logo" when you sign in. (or is that neato "logo" just for this forum?)
It shows the kind of cars people can relate to ! So glad they got rid of that "old timey" logo. (with the old "putt putt" cars). |

| Re: Welcome to the NEW AACA forums! So far, there is no way to get to the Forum through my normal route, i.e. AOL. It simply will not work. I had to get here through Microft Internet Explorer. It's a more difficult route in that I'm able to use it, but only because I'm hooked up by DSL through EMBARQ telephone company. Conversely, the EMBARQ DSL is much more difficult to use for Email than AOL, plus I'd have to change my email addee for all of my many contacts, so I supplement the EMBARQ DSL With AOL. I can also make the site a "Favorite" on AOL which I can't do, at least not easily, with the EMBARQ DSL. I hope the change results in many benefits, as it was working okay for me the old way. It's kind of like having to buy new shoes when software changes.
