    Re: Forum Users Manual

This subject is an example of the problem I am having. I have asked the people where I bought my computer, who also set up my new printer when the factory software was corrupt and their answer is that there is a setting that is not right and I should change "it". When I open a post if it has an attachment I can open the attachment just fime. It there is a URL in the body of the text I cannot click on it and have it open and cannot highlight it so I can cut an paste it into my browser. These latest versions of microsoft seem to baffle me with the wordiness. I realize that I am getting older and am BLONDE, but after allI am male so that should get me at least a half point. I have, I think, unchecked everything, shut off my firewall and security to no avail. So I went back and set everything to default (because I couldn't remember all the original settings). Can any of you fine people help me?????
    Thanks for you time.

    Re: Forum Users Manual

I hope so Peter. For example when I open this thread. You have possted a URL. http://www. etc. Before I upgraded to a new operating system (XP) I could double click on this link and the new page would open. Now it dosen't. I am told this is due to a setting that is protecting the security of my system. With my previous OS (windows95/98 and 2000 this link would open or I could simply highlight the link and cut and past it into my browser and open it. I cannot even cut and paste it now. However any all "attachments" (photos) link right up.
    Thanks for your reply.

Thanks. I just thought I would ask here. Over the years I have found that if you ask everyone/anyone when you have a problem someone has the answer right on their fingertips.
