    Ads on the WEB site

I noticed that you recently pulled a (presumably) blatant ad off the AACA forum posted by Obsolete Ford Parts. I don't have a problem with that and appreciate how the forum would quickly be swamped by commercial messages and/or spam if it were unregulated, But why is it that JC Taylor gets a promenent sponsor ad/message on the forum board? Do you sell such space? Is it open to other firms? Have you considered a special, separate forum or link to a list of parts or services suppliers that serve the anique car hobby that might be organized as to type, marque or some other means? Sometimes it's hard to find a vendor and I have seen more than a few forum posts with a plea as to where a specialized service can be found. There is a service provided by listing such companies, somewhere... and maybe even having a forum by users as to feedback on their experiences with certain vendors. Then again... maybe that last part might be a can of worms.

Re: Ads on the WEB site

    Hello, Richard...

J.C.Taylor paid for the advertisement. They have also been a "huge" supporter of many AACA events to include donations of handouts (at a very considerable expense) to augment/enhance National, Regional, and, Local AACA events.

Commercial advertisements, as far as the AACA Forum guidelines are concerned, have been satisfied with our offering the "Buy/Sell Section", "Club Marques", etc.

In the past years, this has come to the forefront a few times. It was discussed, tabled, and, the end result was with the advent of E-Bay and other venues, our forum does not need commercial advertisements "freely posted".

Our offering of the "Buy/Sell Section", "Tech Questions Section", and, many Marque Club listings, plus, "E-Bay" and the overall "Internet Resources" should suffice.

You have to be made aware that the AACA does not retain a few hundred "paid" employees. Only a few that I am aware of. All of the National Officers, Chairpeople, Committee heads, Judges, and so on "donate" their time at personal expense. For the most part, all of us are car loving volunteers to include the moderators of this forum. (Impressive!! considering there are over 63,000 members worldwide.)

I do not know how much you have observed responses from forum participants. In practically all cases, someone responds with vendor references for a source to find parts, or, in the case of "rare" parts, how/where to have them fabricated. A whole miriad of responses.

Hope I helped answer some questions...any further queries for exacting details should be directed to our "club's National Headquarters". (Emphasis on club, as that is exactly what it is...a club).

    Best regards,
