Need some help on my 1941

Hi Guys, thought I had bought all the rubber needed for my Zephyr club coupe from Bob Boos some time ago, but now find the pads that go between the tail light housings and the body are incorrect, called Bob, but there is no answer at his store, so I need another source for these pads, the Lincoln part numbers are 16H13420 and 21, R+L, the ones Bob sent are too small, probally for a 1940, anyone know any body other than Bob, that sells this rubber?? Rolf, Try patwalshrestorations.com he does list some items for 40 & 41 LZ coupes. Also try Narragansett Reproductions, Box 51 Wood River Jct., RI 02894. Sorry I don't have a telephone # handy.Could be Bob Boos came back East for the holidays. Try him next week.

by the way tryed to get a catalog containing the parts for lincoln from metro molded parts and was told there is not one.

Those sure look right Ricko, wish they had a part # with them, as '40 and'41 use different pads, the '40's are smaller, and we think that is what Boos sent us by mistake. Refuse to deal with E-Bay, but will try to contact this fellow in Wisconsin, and check the part numbers, thanks again, Rolf

Ya gotta understand, Rolf is from California, where the state government would like to 1) pass a law demanding that all screwdriver ends be dulled up so people couldn't cut themselves, and 2) put a $10 environmental disposal fee on each one . Maybe Rolf can dust off his grandmother's Socialist hat and lobby the state gov't. to close down Ebay, that bastion of "cheats and suckers."

Me? I grew up years ago, and don't need my Momma or anyone else to tell me where I can or can't go to buy things. And to put to rest the rantings of the uninformed, you *can* get some good deals on ebay if you look hard enough:

Not sure what California, your grandmother, or Socialism have to do with eBay, either, but *you* brought 'em to the table, and so I played the hand I was dealt!
Minnesota? You'll have to say hello sometime to my sister, who's gone native in the Minneapolis area.

Seriously, eBay is like every other automotive swapmeet I've been to (I'm expecting my first LZOC one this Feb. to break the mold):

1. 90% junk and overpriced
2. 9% not junk, but still overpriced.
3. 1% worth looking at.

But eBay does have advantages:

1. I can see the feedback ratings and I have *some* recourse, unlike a swapmeet.
2. I can do it from home, and not spend gas $ and entrance fees to get in.
3. Ebay goes 24-7, regardless of weather.

The clock I bought (see the link in my earlier) message was a good deal for me, but no doubt for every one like that, there are a 100 or more not-so-good deals. But hey, if someone doesn't want to look at eBay, fine with me. That means fewer potential bidders.

Naw Ricko, you didn't start it, it has been going on for eons, Thanks again for turning me on to those TL pads, a set is in the mail to me as of today, good tip, and I was able to bypass E-bay, so I am stoked, onward, Rolf

Thank goodness that guy didn't try to sell his wares on E-Bay. This way you get to pay for something without really seeing or touching it, pay for it before you receive it, and hope the guy is honest enough to send it and that the mail won't get lost.

Well Dave, the odd thing is he as a business, was trying to sell them on E-bay, and wanted people to bid on them for a week or so, you may well be right that he may be a smarmy rat, and I will never get my pads, but I dealt with him off of E-bay, and am not sure if I would have had more or less protection if I did, at least I didn't have to go with that funky pay-pal tripe, and I am not trying to convince anyone of anything, it is merely my opinion and prejudice, and for heavens sake let's drop it, OK??
