James D. Orr Jr.
Formerly of Warwick, NY

James D. Orr, Jr., of Westtown, formerly of Warwick, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. He was 71 years old.

Born on September 23, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late James D. Orr, Sr. and Rose M. Petrello Orr. He was married to the late Nancy Linda Fonte Orr (2004). Mr. Orr was a retired Steam Fitter with Local 638 in New York City. He was a member of Excelsior Hose Fire Company in Warwick and a member of Antique Automobile Club of America and was a national judge. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, South Centerville where he served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Stephens R.C. Church.

He is survived by his children: James Orr and his wife, Bonnie of Howells, Rosemary Whalen of Cortlandt Manor, Anthony Orr and his wife, Joan of Port Jervis, John Orr and his wife, Tracy of Westtown; his grandchildren: Kathleen Rose, Michael James, Samantha Rae, Elizabeth Ann, James Daniel, IV, Thomas Matthew, and Jessica Michael; a brother, John Orr of Kissimmee, FL. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Michael Whalen.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18, from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, December 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church (So. Centerville), 626 County Route 22, Middletown, NY 10940. Private cremation.

Memorial donations may be sent to Holy Cross Parish Building Fund.
