How do I get a car into class 24A?
New to this forum and I would like to have a car certified for Class 24A, assuming that is the correct class for this car. How do I go about this process?
It is a 1931 Ford roadster that was modified to race on the California dry lakes. It competed from 1938-1942, posting some of the fastest lakes times for a roadster in the pre-war years and in 1939 it became one of the first 100 lakes racers to break 100 mph winning it the Sta-Lube Motor Oil Company trophy. Its fastest speed was 125.854 mph; this on a dry lake with virtually no aftermarket speed parts for the flathead V8.
It was owned and raced by Sandy Belond and built by him and his good friend Sam Hanks in 1937.

Give me a call at AACA National Headquarters, 717-534-1910. I can explain a little about the process and get you the paperwork.

777, I hope you can bring it to Hershey this year. I would like to see this race car close up. Brings back memories of one of my dad's race cars.

Sorry Jim it might have to be next year; it is scheduled to attended the Palos Verdes Concours at The Trump International Golf Course this year so its engine is in pieces.
I'll post some pics of that engine next month it is a 1940 Merc, 4 carb, 16 plug, dual ignition nitro burning flathead.
Hope to get it somewhere that you can take a look at her.
