401 nailhead bearings and/or rings
Hi guys, I am new to the Buick game, but these cars are COOL!! Last year my dad bought a '63 Riv on Ebay motors. Looked awesome in the pictures. In actuality, it was a piece of scrap rust! But were over that now, and performing a frame off restoration. I own a '67 Camaro rs/SS 350 and my dad used to race at the local strip every weekend with his "new for the month" musclecar, so were not new to the whole car scene, just the Buick scene.
Anyway, our problem is this. We have a 401 nailhead in the car, numbers matching. It has been bored .040 over. All the bearings are the standard size. We need to find piston rings and main and rod bearings for this engine. I have found rod bearings on Ebay for a reasonable price, I think. But I thought I would ask on a good Buick only forum for some advice before buying.
Thanks in advance for any advice/info you guys can provide.

Re: 401 nailhead bearings and/or rings
new2buicks.....I would try my local NAPA store and some of the older parts houses in your area; NAPA still stocks some parts from this era and if you're lucky an independant in your area may have a dusty box still on the shelf. Joining the Buick Club would probably help with these and future needs.

Re: 401 nailhead bearings and/or rings
Am in the middle of building (1) 401 stock rebuild and (1)425 aluminum head engine. All parts are easily obtained, I actually have rods and mains and rings in stock. If you like you can call me (Gary) at 631-884-FAST(3278) during regular business hours. Thanks.
